When Mia first joined POWYC, she barely said a word. A quiet 11-year-old with a love for drawing, she often felt left out at school — unsure of where she fit in.

But something changed when she walked through our doors.

With the encouragement of our creative mentors and the warmth of new friendships, Mia joined the Art Club. Week by week, her confidence bloomed — one sketch, one smile, one “you can do it” at a time.

Fast forward just a few months, and Mia is now leading art workshops for younger children. Her drawings? Framed and proudly displayed in our community space.

“It’s more than a club,” her mum says.
“It’s where she found herself.”
